Ancient Christianity Conference 2007_Darien, IL
The 14th Annual African American and Ancient Christianity Conference was hosted this year at the Carmelite Center in Darien, IL. Speakers included, Fr. Jerome Sanderson (Nashville, IL) Fr. Moses Berry (Ash Grove,MO), Fr. Paisius Altschul (Kansas City,MO), Mother Katherine (Indianapolis), Fr. Patrick Reardon (Chicago), Dr. Carla Thomas (Anniston, AL), Mair Burney (Detroit). Ancient Faith Radio (keep an eye on their website for the lectures), was present to record the lectures and invite more listeners to their wonderful program. Trips were made to the African American Museum in Chicago as well as New Gracanica Monastery in Grayslake, IL the home of Bishop Login of the SOC. Attendees were from all across the United States as well as some from other countries. The theme of this years conference was repentance with the parable of the Prodigal son at the center. Break out groups after the lectures were a way for all who attended to share reflections and thoughts. The conferences remain a wonderful time to come together and share with like minded individuals who love God and the church or are seeking a place in the Orthodox faith.
