Troost Fest 2007

The Third annual Troost Festival took place Sat. May 12th 2007 hosted by the "Troost Folks" and a combined community effort. This year we saw the return of the local marching band the Mighty Cobra's. The block was lined up on both sides with booths of all varieties. There were also a lot of fun things for kids included this year including puppets and carnival rides. It was very much a family atmosphere there was something for everyone. We heard good music all day long and into the night (ending at 10pm), from African beats to bluegrass, reggae and acoustic. In the center of the block a tent was set up and different topics that affect our community were discussed and opportunities to vocalize ones opinions were made available. It was estimated that nearly 3000 people showed up on and off throughout the day.
